At the Roaring Twenties Lawn Party

I have been thoroughly enjoying my summer and took a bit of a vacation from posting these past few weeks. Now I’m BACK and ready to share some of the great things I’ve been up to! First up: The Roaring Twenties Lawn Party!
If you’re like me and love vintage, you’ve probably been to a vintage event…or two…or three. One of my favs happens every August at Castle Hill on the Crane Estate in Ipswich, MA. This 1920’s-themed yearly event is put on by The Trustees, Boston Swing Central, and the Greater Boston Vintage Society.

- FYI – I have been to a few of the GBVS events and they are super fun. They are held throughout the year so check them out if you’re in Boston and love vintage like me!
The lawn party is a BYOP – bring your own picnic – event held on the Estate’s sprawling lawn. You can go for one or two days. Alcohol is available for purchase from Mill River Wines, a local MA winery, and Far From the Tree Cider in Salem, MA (their Apple of my Chai cider is yum for fall!) There was also a beer pop up, but since I’m not a beer drinker I didn’t try that. The event starts at 3 but parking opens at 1 PM and getting there early gets you the two P’s – prime parking and a prime picnic spot!

Our day was broken up between lounging and eating cheese and charcuterie, taking dance lessons courtesy of Boston Swing Central, dancing to some of the best live bands, and perusing the fine vintage fare at all the fantastic vintage vendors. I particularly liked seeing all the beautiful pieces from Hall’s on Broadway, Bohemian Boutique, and The House of Findings. I found a fabulous 80’s does 30’s jumpsuit and true vintage Edwardian nightgown set!

The people watching at the Roaring Twenties Lawn Party can’t beat! This is my third year attending, and each year I love seeing everyone’s outfits. People go all out for this event! I also love shopping in advance for my outfits- I have already found my outfit for next year…that’s how excited I am! Has anyone been to this event? Share in the comments!
Also I have heard good things about the Jazz Age Lawn Party in NYC but have never been, who has been there?
With love and vintage ~kk

This one was a candid shot that R took – it made it to my insta!
